Your Mission

As Team Lead - Research & Strategy, you are responsible for building up a team that takes ownership of User Research, Market Research and Market Intelligence at Jimdo. The goal of the team, which is part of the data department, is to enrich the decision making in other departments by providing insights from primary and secondary resources. While different teams are currently covering parts of the responsibilities of this newly formed team, it is important for Jimdo to have these responsibilities centralized in one team, to connect all information and provide recommendations based on it.

Responsibilities

  • Build up a Research & Strategy team at Jimdo with specialists in market research, market intelligence as well as user research
  • Help identifying the most relevant secondary data and for the organization and create more transparency around it
  • Create and maintain a “Factbook” that helps the organization to better understand our business and the market we are operating in
  • Create competitor analyses from a product as well as from a marketing and finance perspective and stay up to date on the latest development of our competitors
  • Discover and identify product gaps and drive teams to implement global and local product enhancements
  • Provide research to better understand our existing as well as our potential customers
  • Support in research for potential M&A targets

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of dedicated experience in a top strategy consulting firm or several years of dedicated experience in market intelligence, market research or business development as well as first experience in leading people
  • Very driven and self-motivated personality with strong follow-through skills
  • Very good understanding of Software-as-a-Service and its implications
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially the ability to convert quantitative and qualitative data into actionable research insights for stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience in using strategy frameworks
  • Good financial knowledge to evaluate the performance of our competitors
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools
