Location

We are happy to invite you to work with us in our office in Hamburg or permanently remote from any location. Wherever you choose to work from, we will make sure you get proper on-boarding (virtual or in person), so that you are fully equipped to become part of the team from day one.

Your Mission

As a leader of People function you will take care of the People Operations team to make sure your team is enabled to be the center of expertise and a strategic partner of business in questions of employment, payroll, pre-boarding, on-boarding and well-being. You make sure the processes are running smoothly but people are always the first priority.

Another part of your team is taking care of the working space and facilities, and leads innovative initiatives towards finding the optimal office set up for the company in the transition-to-remote phase.

You will be part of the People team management reporting to the Head of People.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the entire employee life cycle process in the organisation
  • You will contribute to, and execute of the HR strategy
  • You enable your People Operations team to design, implement and improve HR processes and make sure they are optimal and compliant with local legislation
  • You help your team to find the right metrics to estimate the well-being of Jimdo employees and implement effective initiatives to support employees from different locations and time zones
  • You drive projects focused on improvement or implementation of the software solutions that will help your team in daily work, and be a reliable source of data for strategic decisions
  • You enable your Office management team to drive the projects focused on optimization of office spaces
  • You make sure the office spaces are organized and maintained according to the needs of employees and meet the safety standards
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practice in the areas of expertise and HR more broadly.
  • Manage HR vendors who provide Jimdo specialist services as needed
  • Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies, procedures and employment law matters.
  • Lead, coach and mentor the People Ops team

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years of experience in HR Operations
  • You are an expert in German labor law, trends and have knowledge of tools used in HR Operations and Payroll
  • You have knowledge of hiring employees outside of Germany
  • You have been leading teams of 5+ people
  • You combine strong conceptual thinking with a hands-on and pragmatic style
  • You have the ability to use analytical and experiential data for decision making
  • You speak fluent English and German
