Your Mission

The recently bootstrapped team is on a mission to make managing finances for microbusinesses simple. This is Jimdo's first large mobile app product developed by a full-stack team with full autonomy and responsibility. We rely on the Flutter cross-platform framework for shared functionality but occasionally want to tap into native implementations to provide the best customer experience.

We’re looking for an experienced mobile engineer with native experience (iOS and/or Android) that wants to play a crucial part of making mobile apps a first-class citizen of the Jimdo ecosystem.

Responsibilities

    • Implement new features that help customers manage their business, projects, and ideas successfully. That’s what they love about us!
    • Develop seamless mobile experiences that are clean, pragmatic, and forward-thinking.
    • Work closely with product management, design, and other engineering teams to understand needs and improve the customer experience.
    • Let others benefit from your experience by sharing learnings and mentoring engineers.
    • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

    Requirements

    • Experience as a mobile engineer with a strong background in the entire mobile development lifecycle.
    • Strong software engineering practices (e.g. clean code, unit testing, code reviews, documentation)
    • Good understanding of interface design / UX
    • iOS and/or Android native development, including the release process to App Store and/or Play Store

    Nice to have

    • Experience with Flutter, we know it’s a young framework
    • Experience with end-to-end testing
    • Experience with consumer apps in the financial space
