Location

We are happy to invite you to work with us in our office in Hamburg or permanently remote from any location where you are permitted to work from. Wherever your working location of choice will be, we will make sure you get proper onboarding (virtual or in person) and that you are fully equipped to become part of the team from day one.

Your Mission

As a Marketing Design Lead, you will be a creative thought leader with an excellent design background who will lead, guide, mentor and motivate a team of 4 Designers and 1 Videographer in a fast-paced environment.

You will play one of the key roles in Jimdo Marketing communication translating our Business objectives into Creative campaigns, managing the end-to-end Design process from the Brief to the Campaign evaluation and test-learnings implementation. You will closely work with our Brand, Performance, Product-Marketing teams, ensure their design needs are fulfilled and oversee the standard and quality of creative projects from ideation to delivery.

You will lead and develop creative briefs that capture business needs, set timelines and communicate with internal key stakeholders, and you will conceptualize and ideate creative solutions, make decisions with creative, strategic, and business reasoning.

Responsibilities

  • You will guide the creative team of 4 designers and 1 videographer and together with them work on the Design solutions to promote our Brand and its tools that empower small businesses to build their online presence and achieve success.
  • You and your team will focus on creative conception and ideation in a close cooperation with copywriters
  • You and your team will be take care of Performance campaigns (Paid and owned social, GDN, Pinterest) and performance-focused, Landing pages ''SEO and Unbounce', Lifecycle campaigns (Email Marketing), Brand campaigns with a focus on video, Affiliate campaigns.
  • You will guard and develop Jimdo Brand Guidelines and ensure the consistency of the design in all Marketing channels.
  • You will make conceptual decisions and create layouts, mock-ups, and prototypes to illustrate designs, experiences, and present ideas to team members and stakeholders.
  • You will work closely with channel managers, user researches, data analysts in a collaborative space to deliver the best user experience and performance.
  • You will actively research effective design innovation and make suggestions when briefs are presented.
  • You will provide and receive regular feedback and ensure effective communication in the team and with the stakeholders.
  • You will improve the team performance by being a mentor to your team. You ensure constant learning processes and build a team culture of trust, creativity and inspiration.

Requirements

  • You have a bachelor's degree in design, graphic design, fine arts, or a related field, or equivalent job qualifications.
  • You have at least 7-10 years of experience in a professional services environment, or design agency.
  • You have 2+ years of experience leading a design team.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams, leveraging data and qualitative feedback, to manage the design of marketing material from idea to release with an iterative approach.
  • You have proven, excellent knowledge of the design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Landing page builder tools like Unbounce.
  • You have gained strong experience working in a collaborative design environment.
  • You have excellent knowledge of visual design and visual theory (i.e., composition, color theory, typography, etc.), a sharp eye for layout design, and a strong affinity for the latest design trends and new media (augmented/virtual reality, social media, etc.), along with a mastery of free-hand illustrations and/or digital drawings.
  • You have an excellent customer-centric approach.
  • You have excellent English language skills.
