Office and Facilities Manager

We are happy to invite you to work with us in our office in Hamburg (Altona) and we help with relocation if you are not in Hamburg already.

Your Mission

You will take care of Jimdo's working spaces and take the ownership of the facility administration to make sure we provide the best experience of working in our Hamburg office. You will look at the status quo of the office space utilization and come up with ideas on how to improve it. You will influence the whole organization in the time of transitioning to a remote-friendly setup with an opportunity to work in the office sometimes or permanently and make sure the office space is safe for everyone.


  • You take full ownership of the projects aimed at providing office space safety and improvement, e.g. renovation of existing or opening a new office.
  • You make sure that office runs fully capable and take ad-hoc action to fix any maintenance, engineering, technical and administrative issues
  • You coordinate the development of space inventory, manage information to analyze current space and office planning
  • You assess the need of the office for the growing organization and provide utilization recommendations and solutions
  • You go beyond sticking to the existing assets (Hamburg office for 300 employees) but estimate the need for spaces in other areas, e.g. Berlin
  • You come up with suggestions of the improvement of office space, estimate the possible costs and potential benefits for the Jimdo employees
  • You assist with developing draft budget requests and negotiate the offers with vendors for facility, maintenance and renovation services
  • You supervise and inspect the external vendors’ efforts
  • You conduct space audits to determine space needs and priorities for required changes to allow work progress in a sequential order
  • You identify and solve engineering, technical and administrative problems


  • At least 3 years of experience in facility management, office management, office planning, technical maintenance
  • Interdisciplinary and broad understanding in the field of building services as well as technical skills
  • You are digital savvy and comfortable with office software (e.g. MS Office)
  • Good project management and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in German (native/fluent) and English (upper intermediate), including the ability to work effectively with vendors, staff and users at all levels.
